We recognise that there are multiple stages to organisation design and we can provide consultancy to each of these areas:
1. Inception
Do we need an Organisation Design?
A coaching led service to work with the senior team to understand what might be needed and how to frame this into a project. For smaller organisations or departments this may be a one-off workshop.
2. Target Operating Model
What do we need from our organisation?
This is the starting point of good organisation design and we will look at how your organisation’s mission, vision and strategy can be defined into a Target Operating Model.
3. Assessment
What specifically needs to change?
This will often be part of the Target Operating Model but can be separated out and will be a deep dive into specific areas.
4. High Level Design
What teams/departments do we need and how do they operate?
This is working with you to define what capabilities are needed in what teams and how they interface with each other.
5. Detailed Design
What structures do we need and how will it operate at a detailed level?
This is how the teams are structured and how the processes align to those teams as well as the development of job roles.
6. Change Management & Implementation
How do we move our current state to our future state?
This stage starts at the Target Operating Model stage and runs alongside the Organisation Design to ensure that the change impacts are captured and the organisation is ready to make the changes. Programme and project management features within this area.
7. Training
How can we engage people in the process and be self sufficient in Organisation Design?
Standalone training can be provided for your team to enable them to develop Organisation Design capability. This can be as short as half a day delivered face to face or online and accompanied with guidance documentation.
8. Coaching
Can we be self sufficient in Organisation Design but get guidance and support when we need it?
If you are embarking on your own Organisation Design project and need some help and support, coaching is available. This may include discussing the issues of the Organisation Design, how to go through the process and what tools to use.
In addition to providing a hands-on consultancy for your Organisation Design, Geenius also offers coaching and training to develop your own organisation design capability. Training can be provided as a half day session either as a standard session or can be tailored to your organisation with appropriate case studies.
